2024 ist vor den Nationalratswahlen Bass gegen Hass als Bündnis erstmals aktiv geworden. Der lange geplante Aktionstag für den 14.09.2024, musste dann aufgrund der massiven Unwetter kurzfristig verschoben werden. Dennoch konnten am 21.09.2025 eine Demonstration in Wien und eine Kundgebung in Graz noch ermöglich werden. Hunderte Club Kultur Aktive sind solidarisch auf die Straßen gegangen und haben gezeigt, dass Hass keinen Platz in Clubkultur haben soll.
Für die Gemeinderats und Landtagswahl 2025 in Wien ist Bass gegen Hass neuerlich aktiv geworden.

Als breites Bündnis der Feier- und Clubkultur und vor allem als Menschen, die sich mit diesem Hass nicht identifizieren können, wollen wir gemeinsam zeigen, welche Werte wir tatsächlich vertreten:
- Wir stehen für gesellschaftliche Vielfalt, Raum für Kultur und ein gutes Leben für Alle. Die aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Zustände machen es einmal mehr notwendig, deswegen auf die Straße zu gehen und Aktionen zu setzen.
- Wir als Personen, die kulturelle Events, Clubs und Feiern gemeinsam organisieren, sehen uns in der Pflicht, im derzeitigen gesellschaftlichen Diskurs zu intervenieren. Wir gehen daher auf die Straße und setzen Aktionen, um uns diesem Rechtsruck entgegenzustellen. Unser Bass gegen ihren Hass!

Bass gegen Hass & Raum für Alle!
Am 12.04. ist es wieder so weit: Bass gegen Hass geht in Wien auf die Straße!
Für den Aktionstag ist Support erwünscht! Lies weiter unten, um zu erfahren, wie du unterstützen kannst.
Worum geht es?
Die Wien-Wahl steht vor der Tür, und wir wollen einmal mehr zeigen, dass wir uns als Clubkultur gemeinsam gegen den Rechtsruck und Hass zusammenschließen. Regionale Geschehnisse, wie das gezielte Bedrohen und Jagen schwuler Personen durch Rechtsextreme zeigen, dass Hass nicht nur eine abstrakte Bedrohung ist. Auch in Wien stehen wieder politische Konzepte, Parteien und Personen zur Wahl, die diesen Hass befördern und die Erzählung von der „Gefahr der anderen“ weiterverbreiten, anstatt für ein solidarisches Miteinander einzutreten.
Die Demonstration findet diesmal in Kooperation mit dem Kulturzentrum 4lthangrund statt. Unter dem Titel „Bass gegen Hass & Raum für Alle!“ machen wir auch auf den dringend benötigten Raum für kulturelle und soziale Initiativen aufmerksam sowie auf die Notwendigkeit, bestehende Projekte zu sichern. Diese Räume sind eine grundlegende notwendige Basis, um gegen die Polarisierung unserer Gesellschaft, Ausländerfeindlichkeit, Rassismus und Sexismus vorgehen und somit für eine demokratische und solidarische Gesellschaft kämpfen!
Im 9ten ist 4lthangrund ein solcher Raum für Kultur und Nachbarschaftszusammenhalt. Das Kulturzentrum hat derzeit Mietverträge bis Ende 2025. Danach ist auch die Zukunft von über 35 Gruppen und Initiativen, die unter dem Dach von 4lthangrund werkeln, nicht gesichert. Viele von diesen Gruppen sind auch wichtiger Bestandteil der Wiener Clubkultur. Zwar gibt es aktuell viele positive Gespräche mit verschiedenen Verantwortlichen, doch eine langfristige Lösung ist noch nicht in Sicht. Wir halten es für essenziell, auf die Bedeutung und Notwendigkeit soziokultureller Räume hinzuweisen. Es darf nicht sein, dass diese wenigen Orte sich immer wieder rechtfertigen und behaupten müssen. Kulturelle Freiräume sollten in jedem Grätzel selbstverständlich sein!
Daher starten wir mit der Demonstration auch eine Petition für die Schaffung von mehr selbstverwalteten, gemeinnützigen Orten – und ihr alle könnt sie unterstützen!

Mit der Demonstration greifen wir auch die Anliegen auf, die wir bereits vor der Nationalratswahl im Herbst thematisiert haben:
- Wir wollen ein gutes Leben für alle!

- Ein Leben, in dem es keine Rolle spielt, wie du aussiehst, wo du herkommst, wen du liebst oder welches Geschlecht du hast.

1. Bass gegen Hass
Wir wollen ein gutes Leben für alle. Ein Leben ohne Existenzängste, Angst vor Diskriminierung oder Anfeindungen. Ein Leben, wo, wie du aussiehst, wo du herkommst, wen du liebst oder welches Geschlecht du hast, nicht diskriminiert wird. Wir stehen gemeinsam für ein solidarisches Miteinander ein. Das werden wir am Aktionstag lautstark sichtbar machen!
Im aktuellen Wahlkampf wird wieder einmal mehr sichtbar, dass es Kräfte gibt, deren einziges Mittel der Hass gegen andere ist. Gehetzt wird gegen alles, was nicht einem bestimmten, sehr beschränkten Weltbild entspricht: Trans* und inter* Personen wird das Existenzrecht abgesprochen. Feministische Positionen werden angegriffen. Grenzen sollen „geschlossen“ werden und Menschen, die aufgrund von Armut, Klimawandel, und/oder Krieg fliehen, sollen ausgegrenzt oder abgeschoben werden. Aus einem nationalistischen, patriarchalen, kapitalistischen und rassistischen Weltbild wird einmal mehr Stimmung gegen alles und alle gemacht, die diesem Bild nicht entsprechen.
2. Solidarisches Feiern (bedeutet auch Klassenkampf)
Orte, an denen gemeinsam gefeiert wird, sollen und müssen Orte sein, an denen alle sicher sein können. Damit meinen wir aber nicht den Begriff von Sicherheit der Kontrolle bedeutet, sondern die Möglichkeit, gemeinsam oder auch alleine in Frieden feiern zu können. Feiern soll und muss ein solidarisches Miteinander sein, bei dem alle ohne Angst teilnehmen können. Dafür braucht es entsprechende Konzepte und eine Verantwortungsübernahme von allen, die Räume und Veranstaltungen organisieren.
Darüber hinaus müssen Veranstaltende und Besucher:innen ein Gefühl dafür entwickeln, was es bedeutet, gemeinsam zu feiern. In einer konkurrenzgetriebenen Gesellschaft braucht es Orte, an denen man lernen kann, was Gemeinschaft bedeutet. Und es gilt, die Arbeitsbedingungen in dieser Gemeinschaft kritisch zu hinterfragen.
Als Aktionstag stehen wir dabei auch für queere und feministische Anliegen ein, die mit diesen Themen verbunden sind. Sei es besserer Schutz vor Gewalt, eine Veränderung des Strafrechts bei Übergriffen – nur Ja heißt Ja, die Rechte von LGBTIQAA+, ein Ende von Zwangseingriffen an intergeschlechtlichen Menschen oder das Recht auf freien Schwangerschaftsabbruch.
3. Räume zum Feiern
Als Zusammenhang, in denen einige von uns Räume organisieren und viele von uns Räume zum Veranstalten nutzen, wollen wir mit dem Aktionstag auch auf die Notwendigkeit von Räumen hinweisen. Viele der Räume, die es aktuell gibt, sind nicht dauerhaft abgesichert oder sogar gefährdet. In vielen Städten mussten zuletzt auch Clubs schließen. Wir greifen daher einmal mehr die Notwendigkeit von der dauerhaften Absicherung und Schaffung vieler neuer Räume auf. Es braucht zudem mehr finanzielle Mittel und Fördermöglichkeiten für Kultur allgemein und damit verbunden natürlich auch für Clubkultur. Damit einhergehend sind wir auch für eine Erleichterung des Veranstaltungsrechts im öffentlichen Raum, einen Stopp der Repression gegenüber Kundgebungen und Demonstrationen sowie ein Ende der Sperrstunde.

The current election campaign once again shows that there are forces whose only tool is hatred against others. There is hatred against everything that does not fit a certain very limited worldview: trans* and inter* people are denied the right to exist. Feminist positions are attacked. Borders are to be ‘closed’ and people fleeing due to poverty, climate change and/or war are to be marginalized or deported. Once again, a nationalist, patriarchal, capitalist, and racist worldview is being used to create an atmosphere against everything and everyone who does not conform to this image.
As a broad alliance of the party and club culture and, above all, as people who cannot identify with this hatred, we want to show together what values we represent:
We stand for social diversity, space for culture, and a good life for all. The current state of society once again makes it necessary to take to the streets and take action.
As people who organize cultural events, clubs, and celebrations together, we see it as our duty to intervene in the current social discourse. We are therefore taking to the streets and organizing actions to oppose this shift towards the political right. Our bass against their hate!

On 12 April it’s that time again: Bass against Hate hits the streets of Vienna!

What is it all about?
The Vienna elections are just around the corner, and we want to show once again that we, as a club culture, are uniting against the shift to the right and hatred. Regional events, such as right-wing extremists specifically threatening and hunting down gay people, show that hatred is not just an abstract threat. In Vienna as well, political concepts, parties and people are running for elections that propel hatred and the image of the dangerous ‘Other’ instead of fighting for a life of solidarity with one another.
In the 9th district, 4lthangrund is such a cultural space that protects culture and neighbourhood solidarity. Currently, the rental contract for the cultural centre ends after 2025. After this period, also the future of over 35 groups and initiatives that are part of 4lthangrund is not secure. Many of these are also crucial parts of our club culture. Although there are currently many positive discussions with various people in charge, a long-term solution is not yet in sight. We believe it is essential to emphasize the importance and necessity of sociocultural spaces. These few places should not have to justify and assert themselves over and over. Cultural spaces should be a common space in every neighbourhood!
That’s why we are also launching a petition for the creation of more self-managed, non-profit spaces with the demonstration – and you can all support it!

With the demonstration, we are also taking up the issues that we already raised before the National Council elections in autumn:
- We want a good life for everyone!
- A life without existential fears, discrimination or hostility.
- A life in which it doesn’t matter what you look like, where you come from, who you love or what gender you are.
- Everybody should have the right to vote!
We stand together for solidarity with one another – and will make this loudly visible on the day of action!

We want a good life for everyone. A life without existential fears, fear of discrimination, or hostility. A life where there is no discrimination, no matter what you look like, where you come from, who you love, or what gender you are. Collectively, we stand up for solidarity. We will make this loudly visible on the day of action!

2. celebrating in solidarity (also means class struggle)
Places where people celebrate together should and must be places where everyone can be safe. By this, however, we do not mean the concept of security, which implies control, but the possibility of being able to celebrate together or alone in an atmosphere of peace. Celebrations should and must be a solidarity-based togetherness in which everyone can participate without fear. This requires appropriate concepts and an understanding of responsibility on the part of all those who organize spaces and events.
In addition, organizers and visitors need to develop a sense of what it means to celebrate together. In a competitive society, we need places where we can learn what community means. And it is important to critically question the working conditions in this community.
As a day of action, we also stand up for queer and feminist issues that are linked to these topics. Be it better protection against violence, a change in criminal law in cases of assault – only yes means yes, the rights of LGBTIQAA+, an end to forced interventions on intersex people, or topics like the right to free abortion.
3. spaces to celebrate
As a context in which some of us organize spaces and many of us use spaces for events, we also want to use the day of action to draw attention to the need for spaces. Many of the spaces that currently exist are not permanently secured or are even at risk. In many cities, clubs have also had to close recently. We are therefore once again emphasizing the need to permanently secure and create many new spaces. We also need more financial resources and funding opportunities for culture in general and, of course, for club culture as well. Alongside this, we are also in favor of easing the law on events in public spaces, stopping the repression of rallies and demonstrations, and putting an end to the closing time (Sperrstunde).
